The overall aim of our Little Ninja Program is to provide fun, encouragement and the positive development of martial arts at a crucial time in a young person’s life – a time when positive influences can have an inspiring effect. In today’s sedentary lifestyle, martial arts is a great way to encourage your child to improve their fitness and self-confidence in a sport that requires discipline and dedication.

Our Little Ninja program is specially designed for 4-7-year-olds to learn basic kickboxing and boxing techniques, whilst developing social skills such as respect, discipline, teamwork and self-control.

Little Ninja Grading System

All Little Ninja students will follow a grading system from Ninja White Belt to Ninja Blackbelt. During gradings the student will be required to demonstrate elements of the syllabus to a high standard. Belts are awarded on merit and the correct demonstration of techniques. Most of our students enjoy the grading process as they can show instructors how well they are doing and then being rewarded with a new belt is a great motivator.

Sparring

Little Ninjas are required to participate in very light controlled contact, body-only sparring. Most of our ninja students enjoy this part of the syllabus but some take longer to take part. Our instructors understand that at such a young age sparring can seem daunting, therefore students will not be made to spar if it will be detrimental to their training.

Our Cadets program includes kickboxing, boxing and basic kali stick fighting and classes involve pad work, light-contact sparring, fitness, bag work and self-defence strategy. We emphasise self-motivation and team work and encourage discipline, respect, and consideration of others at all times.

Grading

Gradings consist of an assessment at the end of each month which will be conducted during lesson time. Graduation gradings take place every three months usually on a Saturday morning. Students will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge of the techniques required for their current grade plus techniques from all previous grades.

Sparring

Sparring will be kept very light and controlled in Cadets lessons.  Any Cadets wishing to further their sparring skills or enter competitions may attend Wednesday or Saturday sparring classes at instructors’ discretion.  Kickboxing and boxing are contact sports. Our students will have to demonstrate sparring in both lessons and gradings. When sparring students will be required to wear the correct protective equipment (listed on our sparring equipment page below).

Strike & Grapple is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Originating from the Brazilian art of Vale Tudo in the 1920s, Strike & Grapple was launched into the mainstream by the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) in 1993, where fighters from different backgrounds (i.e. Boxers, Kickboxers, Thai Boxers, Wrestlers, Brazillian Jui-Jitsu and Judo fighters) were matched against one and other to see who came out on top.

Our Strike and Grapple class is tailored to cover the basic foundation techniques required to gain a well-rounded skill set with the emphasis being put on safety. This allows for an enjoyable experience in your training session whilst learning the aspects required to fight successfully in any style, whether that is a single discipline or a mix of all.

Classes cover striking (from standing and on the ground), clinch work/pummel, takedowns, position, wrestling, submissions & submission defence / escapes, grappling and MMA sparring, & kickboxing.

Correct safety equipment must be worn at all times (listed on our sparring safety equipment page below).
